There are many books written about Bangkok's "legendary" nightlife, many bars promote books by
Christopher
G Moore, probably the most prolific writer of this genré.
Check the author's web site for reviews and a sample set of pages from
each book to whet your appetite.

Chris Moore's books are quite heavily
advertised in Nana Plaza, where you can buy them in several bars -
usually signed by the author. I used to have a humorous remark on here
suggesting that I had a copy NOT signed by the author - and was it
valuable. Following a polite request, not only did I meet Chris Moore,
but he also bought me a beer! I am pleased to say he appreciated the
joke!

Barry Eisler was unknown to me until late
in 2005, when I started getting emails from people saying they had found my
web site after reading the acknowledgement in his book Killing Rain.
Although not based entirely in Bangkok, there are great passages and
detail that brought vivid pictures to mind of John Rain's movements
around Bangkok as he visits such places as Brown Sugar in Soi Sarasin.
Many thanks for the acknowledgement on page 334!

A lot of controversy
surrounds this book, cleverly written to incorporate all your favourite
features of "The Land Of Smiles"!
These unauthorised copies were rounded
up from local booksellers in early 2001, but some enterprising chaps
have put it on the web for you to download at the modest cost of US$
9.95. In Adobe .pdf format.

Money Number One by Neil Hutchinson
This has been around for some time but I
was put off by the poor cover art, however, it is a must read for anyone
getting involved with bar girls. It tells it like it is, the things you
should be told. It would be very funny if it were not all true!
